Malcolm Goldring
Malcolm Goldring is currently Chief Executive of (the British Federation of Young Choirs), a position he has held since 1999; prior to that he was Assistant Principal at the Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff.
In addition to his work for youngchoirs.net, Malcolm conducts two choirs - a chamber choir (the Cavendish Singers) and the 250-strong Midland Festival Chorus (which this year celebrates its 30th anniversary with a spectacular concert in Worcester Cathedral with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra) and is in frequent demand as a guest conductor at home and abroad (this summer sees him conducting in Slovenia, next spring in Singapore and next summer in Spain). As an adjudicator, he recently served on the jury of the International Chamber Choir Competition in Bavaria, and this summer adjudicates at an international competition in Cantanigros, northern Spain.
He is a consultant to local education authorities and, additionally, provides support to schools across the land - this summer he has advised in Manchester, Ely and Leicester. He is an Examiner for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music and an Ofsted Schools Inspector and Additional Inspector.
