Girls’ Choirs, North and South
The NYCGB Girls’ Choirs are an educational and performance choirs which allow girls in school years 6 to 10 to learn musicianship skills, enjoy a wide ranging choral repertoire and improve their voices.
Like the Training Choirs, there is a Girls' Choir North and Girls' Choir South. Members may be considered for a place in one of the NYTCs from school year 9.
What happens on a Girls' Choir course?
Two courses are held per year; a joint course at Easter involving all the Junior Choirs, and a Summer course for each junior choir. They are run by staff from the NYC organisation.
On courses, members will receive choral training from leading youth choir conductors. Singing lessons and classes in ear training and musicianship will provide a fun learning basis to move up the NYC ladder.
